Nidek Tonoref II NCT – ARK

The Nidek Tonoref II combines the technologies of autorefractor, keratometer, and non-contact tonometer into one highly accurate, space-saving device. The Tonoref II presents several enhanced features such as a smaller footprint, to save even more space, and a new exterior design, but most importantly, the Tonoref II now uses SLD (Super Luminescent Diode) and a highly sensitive CCD device to provide Zonal Ring-Image Technology. This makes it possible to now accurately measure patients with cataracts, corneal opacities, IOLs, and post LASIK.

Description

The Tonoref II is capable of measuring through a pupil as small as 2mm. The Nidek Tonoref II includes an optional pupil zone imaging method that includes a wider area (max. 4mm) to obtain measurements that are closer to the refraction through a mesopic pupil.

Super Luminescent Diode (SLD) technology offers advantages over other measurement methods by using brighter illumination to better read through media opacities, providing a more consistent measurement. The result is more consistent and repeatable measurement even with challenging patients.

The EyeTracking System

Autonomous X, Y, Z eye tracking. The Eyetracking System provides X, Y, Z axes tracking for superior alignment, and focusing. The Tonoref II initiates automatic measurement at the optimum measurement point.

Gentle Air

The Tonoref II has an advanced APC (automatic pressure control) – high volume-low pressure puff-function which provides a softer puff of air for accurate IOP measurements with increased patient comfort. The Tonoref II system automatically adjusts the strength of the air puff based on the first measurement of the patient’s IOP (including glaucoma suspects).
